C-O-L-T-O-N

Here is a look at the first time Colton wrote his name all on his own with no help from Mommy. Pretty good right?!?! We were at a local restauraunt and he wrote this on the menu so I took a picture to share.

He is growing up too fast but he is still my baby. Look at him sleeping on the couch that same day with his little stuffed animal...looks so innocent when he sleeps. :)

Sorry - I realize this is sideways!

Happy Birthday Riley

Riley turned 6 on Sunday. He celebrated with a Sponge Bob/Pirate party at the YMCA. They played dodgeball, soccer, all sorts of games! Few kids from school came and I think he had a really great day and the pictures and videos prove it...all courtesy of the iPhone...I have a ton on my camera but who knows when I will get to those!

Heidi made the cake...Riley made his legs and arms.

The Enchanted Village

Last night we took the kids to the Enchanted Village at Jordans Furniture. The had all the old Christmas window displays from Jordan Marsh's from Boston set up along with the famous Jordan Marsh blueberry muffins. My Nana use to take her kids every year to Boston for the Enchanted Village and this was over 50 something years ago! Santa was there too and he told the boys they need to be good...ha! We had media night passes (thanks Zach) for free tickets to the Polar Express 4D ride, light show and food. We had such a nice night...I am in the Christmas Spirit for sure now!

I have some pictures they took at the store that my mom was nice enough to purchase of the whole group, these will be scanned in and shared because they are so funny!

Saucey

This is what happens when you leave a one year old alone with a bowl of pasta. Brayden doesn't like forks.

Bike rides

Yesterday we spent the day doing what every other person in New England was doing...raking! Nick has been doing all the raking every weekend so yesterday Colton and I decided to help out since it was so warm out and I finally forced myself to a day at home (trust me there is always something going on). This also meant Colton got to ride his bike, scooter, go kart, jeep...you name it. I also took him to play tennis for a little bit, he is getting much better and does manage to hit it over the net now. This is a little clip and picture of him riding his trike.

Safety Geek & Buddy

Yesterday poor Buddy got "fixed". I feel so bad for him, he really is in a lot of pain even with the meds they gave us to keep him comfortable. I left the TV on for him today when I left, hopefully a day of watching cartoons on the comfy couch will make him feel better. Ironically, my mom informed me this weekend that Buddy just became a dad! Right before we got Buddy he apparently gave his girlfriend and fellow golden a proper goodbye. Yup, 12 puppies! Haha - well that was his one and only shot at fatherhood...congratulations.

On another note...Colton was wearing some safety glasses around Auntie Heidi's house the other day and I realized at that moment that my kid is destined to be a geek just like his mom...poor thing. With his personality, he may end up being the class clown like his mom also...I have created a monster.

Trickin and Treatin

Meet Mario and Luigi aka Colton and Riley! They really wanted to wear mustaches but as you can see from the pictures the mustache didn't stay on and they never wore them. I reassured them that someday they will have plenty of time to wear mustaches...lol! Brayden was Thomas the Train but he refused to wear his costume...I have told you before, he is a stinker. Heidi had a little party on Halloween for the kids since Phil's family was coming over. She has the house all decorated and games organized. They played pin the tail on the black cat, witch hat ring toss, donut on a string eating contest, and a toilet paper mummy wrap contest. Lots of fun and I even dragged Nana Banana with me to witness the chaos. Here are some highlights.

Riley and his best friend Darren from school.

The kids didn't wear the mustache but Phil seemed to enjoy it.

Phil's dad George...he let Heidi face paint his forehead!

Wouldn't wear his Thomas costume but he loved wearing this orange bucket on his head.

Ha! Someone had to wear it George!

Leighton Brooke Kelley is here!!!

Happy birthday to our newest addition to the family, my niece, Leighton Brooke Kelley! Leighton was born at 1:18AM this morning, 7lbs and 19 inches and is absolutely perfect, healthy and as beautiful as her mommy. Heidi and I spent the entire night in the hospital waiting for the news with my mom, Joan (Alicia's mom), Peggy (Alicia's Aunt) and her sister Amy. We had lots of laughs and thrived on the text updates from Wally. It was worth the wait though because I actually got to see her, get pictures and even got to hold her. Basically I am working on no sleep and what little zzz's I did get I just had these little visions of Leighton my head. This is the first girl so prepare yourself for lots of pictures!!! Here are the first of many. November 3rd is a great day!

What do you think...does she look like mommy or daddy?

Daddy's girl already.

Halloween cookie

Pictures from Halloween will be posted shortly but this is a quick look at how the boys had enjoyed treats for weeks before the big event. We had this giant cookie for several days. It turned their teeth orange and they required serious baths and tooth brushing nightly. Sort of miss that old cookie right about now.

Dog park and dog scares

This Sunday we woke up bright and early thanks to daylight savings. The day started with a special walk at the dog park with Buddy's friend Aspen. Aspen is Kerry's dog and he and Buddy are partners in crime. Last weekend was Buddy's birthday (2 years) and he and Aspen shared special Buddy Biscuts and some new dog toys. Don't get me wrong...Buddy gets lots of prizes, I pretty much never come home from any store without a special treat for my two babies (Buddy and Colton). He has his own little toy box and I find more of his stuffed animals around the house than Colton's! Ironically yesterday afternoon Buddy ran away, he was napping on the couch with Colton and later when I went to feed him dinner, I noticed he was missing. Well I lost it!!! We were all out looking for him because Buddy just doesn't run away and our house is all fenced in so we couldn't figure out how he could get out. Long story short I had been driving around for sometime and was just about to pull up my street when I saw some guy walking my Buddy!!! Then we put all the pieces together, ends up he is my neighbor, found him on our street and said Buddy would get really excited when he heard kids voices and even walked by our house!!! Did I mention that our street is a dead end cul de sac with only like 10 houses on it?!? They didn't know who's dog he was and from the morning walk he had on his old collar and leash with his old name/number tags because it has skulls on it and my brother thought it was Halloweenish so he put it on him not knowing. I think he was also just sick of looking at the Red Sox collar...time to get a Patriots one...yeah Tom Brady! Anyways...so I knew if someone found him they wouldn't know who to call unless they found the microchip in his chest which is licensed to me. Ends up Buddy got out through the bulkhead down in the basement that was open because we were working on the downstairs. That was an awful feeling but now all is back to normal and we are so thankful to have our Buddy home safe and sound. :-)
