Typical Weekend...

We usually start our Sunday mornings off with lots of coffee and then Colton has hockey. Here is a picture of him waiting to get on the ice...he looks little next to his teammates. One of the hockey dads/coaches said to me the other day "I was laughing so hard the other day, Colton skated as fast as he could during a drill and headbutted the boards on purpose and it didn't even phase him, the kids were laughing so hard, man your kid is always smiling and happy, I keep telling the kids to laugh more like Colton, he's a good kid". (proud mommy...little do they know he is also part devil at times) As many refer to him...he is a human wrecking ball or human pin ball...lol!

*I will note here that I did ask Colton never to headbutt the boards again because it is dangerous and it scares mommy and it really isn't that funny (hehe - you should have seen it).

He is #7 and his name is officially on his shirt.
He was so excited the day these came in!
You have to end a snowy Sunday with cookies and hot chocolate after a cold hockey game.

Just another year older...

Nicked is getting OLD! He turned 36 this year and we had a nice night out at Unos so we could indulge in wings and pizza...deep dish all the way, you can only do this on special occasions! Colton told the waitresses that it was Daddy's birthday so they all came out singing happy birthday. Dessert was the enormous cookie ice cream sundae for us to all share. YUM!

Kicking off 2011 with our buddies...

New Years Eve we went over to Heidi's for our annual gorge on Chinese food and play Wii pajama party. I wish I had pictures but I was too busy doing Just Dance 2...yeah I had the moves and maybe the top score. Watch out Madonna.

New Years day poor Donna and Chris were couch bound with the stomach bug and bronchitis. Could 2011 be off to a worse start for them? So Nick and I decided it was a perfect day to venture out in Boston with the kids. We picked up Angela and Rich and walked all over, hitting Borders where they each picked out something they wanted. Then we grabbed dinner to go and ate down at the Boston Commons since it was this insanly warm night, we even had a little snow ball fight after we ate. To top the night off the kids "took me on a date" to see the new Disney movie Tangled. It was Angela's first movie and she couldn't have loved the experience anymore. We changed all the kids into their pjs before the movie, then Angela sat on my lap the entire time with her hand in the popcorn bucket for the whole 2 hours. I don't know how she out ate all of us or where the appetite comes from because she had already wolfed down a happy meal and half my pizza before the movie! She cracks me up and was so stinking cute (Donna informed me she woke up at 2AM and puked up all the popcorn...oops!). The boys had fun as well and I wish I could have gotten a picture of them sitting there sharing the popcorn, they would laugh, look at each other, laugh again and just such great buds.

All the kids fell asleep on the walk back. It was such a nice night and the perfect way for some of us (sorry Donna and Chris) to start 2011.

This years resolution...more time with friends!
