Haunted Ship

Last weekend when Julie was here visiting with her parents from PA we decided to do something fun one night. There is this haunted ship, USS Salem, over in the Quincy shipyard that does a haunted ship thing every year and I have always been curious but way to scared to ever actually do it. I thought Julie might be into it, being 19 and all, but she was scared too. So we talked Heidi and her sister in-law Siobhan to come with us. It was one of those things that none of us really wanted to go because we were scared but we also really wanted to see what it was like. It was scary enough being out of the house at night past 8PM without kids...so what the heck...we decided that we would put on our big girl pants and go for it! When we got there they also offered this late night paranormal ghost tour of the ship because it apparently really is haunted and was on Ghost Hunters (a tv show I am too afraid to watch) last week. Well I got talked into doing that as well...I am way too old for this stuff. Siobhan was nice enough to go first and then we formed our train (Heidi, me and then Jules in the back). The back is WAY worse because when you are walking through these things the monsters always linger in the back while you walk through. Julie was so far up my back though I am pretty sure she didn't see much! The scariest by far was the last room in the ship where this vampire/werewolf thing was on a table in front of the exit door and jumps at you like an animal and the door behind you locks...don't know how we got out! For the paranormal thing we used these little electromagnetic detectors (EMFs) in the dark and they pick up signals when ghost are present and there was some paranormal dude there that can see/hear them. It was a little freaky, definitely bizarre, but we seriously had a lot of fun and were out past midnight and actually liked it...yeah it must have been a full moon!

Just the girls...btw not by choice...not a single guy would come with us!

Julie before...

Julie after!

This is Julie with one of those EMFs...it was pitch black but we could use our cameras...sometimes you can get images on your camera if there is a ghost present...BOOOOO!!!

Grandma and Grandpa

Last weekend Grandma, Grandpa, Aunt Julie and Uncle Alex came for a visit from Pennsylvania. The boys got lots of football time and the girls did some shopping! It had been quite a while since we last saw them so Colton got so many belated b-day presents they barely had room in the minivan to get them all here. Colton did lots of arts and crafts with Grandma and even took a nap with his Grandpa. As they were leaving Colton was yelling out the window putting his Christmas present requests in...he is one spoiled grandchild!!! Counting down the days until Thanksgiving when we see them next. :-)

Play-dough!

A little nap with Grandpa.

Grandma love to spoil!

Aunt Julie was the perfect roomie for the weekend! :-)

Red Sox...a little late but we love you anyways!

Here are some pictures from the last Red Sox game of the year. I scored 4 tickets to Game 3 of the playoffs and took my mom, Corey and Heidi. It was a perfect day for baseball but we all know now how the story ends...they blew it. None the less it was a good day to watch a game from some great seats, suck back some beers and eat a few Fenway franks. We will get them next year!

Uncle LP is back in the USA

It's not every day that you get a picture of my Aunt with her eyes open...go Judy!

Corey too has been working on his picture perfect smile...not bad, not bad at all!

Paul does not have SARS he is just allergic to my aunt's dog.

Heidi & Phil

Nicole and the boys.

Cheesey

Brayden is such a stinker that I decided to take pictures of him even when he hates it.

Colton just standing in the snow...wondering where the heck it is coming from!

My cousin Paul was home for a few weeks for Nicole's wedding. The day before he headed back to China we had a nice family dinner at my aunt's house where my uncle made a fried chicken feast! This also happened to be the first day of snow for us here in Boston. Never have I seen it snow this early...craziness. We literally drove through a snow storm to get to dinner. For those of you who watched the Patriots that Sunday you were witness to this snow fiasco! Paul brought the kids home presents...Riley got numchucks and Colton got remote control car, and Brayden got a stuffed panda bear. Numchucks...do I need to say it again??? I also joked that I wanted proof that the car didn't have any lead paint on it...good old China. Paul won't be home for at least 6 months or longer this time. :-(

Boo at the Zoo

Yesterday was a perfect Fall day here in Boston (way overdue) so we went trick or treating at the Franklin Park Zoo with the Wells Family. Colton and Rich ironically dressed as a lion and a tiger and made the cutest little zoo themed tricker treaters. They tried hard to scare the animals, ate every piece of candy they got before we left the park, and ran themselves tired (Colton took a solid 4 hour nap that afternoon...I may have snoozed off as well...thank you zoo). We also ran into Uncle Phil and the kids while they were entering the costume contest...hysterical. Please take note of how clean my little lion looked as the day started and what he looked like as we left. He was "that kid" that went down the slide and landed in the largest mud puddle at the end. Oh yeah...apparently "lions like the dirt" he told me on the ride home.

Apparently he didn't get my joke about him looking like Fozzy Bear.

Richard and Colton...best buds!

Did you know you can hear a lion's roar 5 miles away?

This is one way to watch the tigers.

Notice the big lion on the background...brave of Colton to eat in front of him!

That would be Riley (aka Luigi) and Brayden in the costume contest.

Better shot of my nephews and Phil.

What Mom...the puddle wasn't that big...I didn't see it...

Ummm...yeah...that would be my lion sopping wet and ready to go home.

Mr. and Mrs. Gear

This past weekend my cousin Nicole got married. Welcome to the family Dano!!! After 30 years she went from the longest last name (Desgrosseilliers) to the shortest (Gear). Wow - what a relief for her! The wedding was so much fun, Nicole was an absolutely stunning bride and and boys looked way too dapper in their tuxedos. Ugh...how did we get such handsome boys?!?! Here are the limited pictures I have of the night...I was very busy cutting a rug!
