Auntie and Uncle Paul's New Abode

Auntie Judy and and Uncle Paul finally moved into their new home in Walpole.  I am so happy for them, the house is a cute little cape, 5 minutes from Nicole and the kids and just a dream come true.  Naturally Uncle Paul couldn't wait to entertain and throw a bbq and Little Paul was home from China so it worked out well.  The food was endless and everyone had a great time.  I can't wait to go back and enjoy some more wine out in the gazebo!

Yard Work and Sunsets

Well if this doesn't scream an exciting Friday night I don't know what planet you are on.  The crabgrass was a foot high so yard work was long overdue, Colton was even guilted into helping out.  Followed by dinner with Lisa and Donna in Hull at Local 02045 to catch the sunset sealed the deal for a great start to my weekend.

A Broadie in Training

Check out my new assistant at work! Colton needed to finish up his summer reading and assignments and somehow it was taking FOREVER on his own at home.  So, I dragged him to work with me.  Since he is only 12, he still can't enter the labs or get to my office (located off of a lab corridor) so we got to move around the Broad and check out all the cool seating that I never leave my office for.  I gave him a nice tour of MIT, and he came to lunch with my group to take Mackenzie Post out for her last day (she has been interning with us for the summers between college).  I could get use to his cute face sitting across from me everyday but soon school will be back in session and coming to work with mom will be boring and seem like too much work.  For the time being he thinks the Broad is a cool place to work though and his mom isn't so bad.

Summer Selfies

I am trying to get better at getting in front of the camera with Colton.  The years are flying by and when he looks back I think it's important that he remembers I was there too, not just hiding my fat ass behind the scenes.  Speaking of fat asses - we met Heidi and the boys at Frozen Freddies for some ice cream the other night then headed to Hull to visit with Donna, her mom was in town.  Having your friends so close makes me feel like the luckiest person in the world!  These are the little moments that make our life complete.

Papoose Pond 2018

So for the last few years we have been camping with our friends up in Waterford, Maine at this campground called Papoose Pond.  My friend, Jen Fleming, grew up camping here as a kid with her family and somehow a large group of us have made it our own tradition over the last few years.  This year it was the Mullins, Flemings, Stantons, Murphys, Giblins and Jen's extended family (parents/aunt/uncle/cousins/brother etc).  Colton and I stay on our own site, HHK-4, which has its own kitchen area and bathroom/shower.  Several years back I bought a super old pop-up camper (1991) and we have been trailing it around every since.  We spend the days swimming (kids on the docks), paddle boarding, floats, kayaking, sitting at the beach, eating and drinking, hanging by the fire...the list goes on.  There are so many kids I don't really see much of Colton but I have to believe that he is making memories and someday will remember the good ole days of Papoose and how much independence I gave him and all the fun he had.

Here are some pictures from our week in no particular order.
