Wonderworks

Since this trip was just to hit Legoland and we didn't want to go to any of the larger parks we decided to check out this place called Wonderworks.  Wonderworks is this indoor adventure place where there are lots of interesting things to explore like the bed of nails, a hurricane wind chamber, real space suits and all sorts of really amazing exhibits.  Our favorite part for sure was the laser tag game since it was just us in there and we had never done it before (addictingly fun!!!).  We also opted to stay for a dinner/comedy/magic show which was another highlight of the trip.  Nick was definitely scoped out by the magician "Tony" in the beginning of the show and was brought up on stage and was the main audience participant throughout the night.  It was belly-aching funny and the unlimited pizza, wine and beer was awesome too!  The show ended with Nick on stage, dressed as Cher in a wing and mask, while doing a duet with Tony (I mean Sonny..."I got you Babe").  No joke, we wet our pants.  Little kids were coming up to Nick after the show asking for his autograph.  The boys thought this was seriously the funniest thing ever, we still joke about Nick's boyfriend Tony. :)

Legoland

Colton had put visiting Legoland on his things to do list for 2012 so I told him if he did really well in school maybe we could try to make it happen.  Since Legoland just opened up this past year in Orlando we decided to surprise the boys with an end of school year trip down there.  Who really wants to go to Florida in June?  Not me, but this wasn't my trip it was theirs.  Heidi, Nick and I ventured down and we rented this enormous 5 bedroom house with all the amenities including our own pool and hot tub so the it was easy enough to stay at our house and cool off in the pool or ac to get a true lazy vacation feel when we needed it.  We went to Legoland twice, one day we did nothing but rides and shows and the other day we hit their brandnew water park for half the day before topping off with our last rides.  Colton is Lego obsessed so it was truly a 6 year old's dream come true.  Legoland was filled with tons of adult themed rides that were scaled down for kids aged 5-12.  Colton and Riley did everything and it was great to see how confident they felt going on the roller coasters all alone without an adult.  The park was awesome to say the least and I would recommend it to anyone with younger children.  No lines, healthy food options, lots of shade, great rides...the list goes on.  In the end being in Florida during a heatwave was such a small detail if you could have seen the smiles on their faces. :)
Sorry - lots of pictures and this is just a few of the ones I took!

This picture is from a mastermind class that Nick took Colton and Riley too.  They built a lego alligator that connected to the computer, then they programmed it to talk, move and eat a fish stick!  So cool!!!

Colton even saved the day at the pirate water ski show!

Sleepovers...

Donna and Chris finally took me up on the offer to take the kids for the weekend so they could have a kid free weekend.  It was perfect timing seeing as they are celebrating their 10 year anniversary!  The kids were so excited to have a sleepover that all three of them squeezed right into Colton's bed at night and they were so exhausted they literally were asleep within minutes of me finishing our bedtime book.  We had a busy weekend filled with baseball games, hours at the park, basketball, Dora, Legos...oh we did it all.  I even took Angela on a girls only shopping trip where she picked out some cute clothes (pink spiderman shirts are cute right).   We had such a great time and would do it again in a heartbeat...can't really wait until their 20th anniversary though..the kids will be way too old!  As it is Rich informed Colton he has a girlfriend and they are getting married (Maddie Harding), Colton thinks Rich is sooo cool now, they fist pumped and everything...oh god...next sleepover they will be sneaking out and stealing the car to meet girls!

My big 6 year old...

I think Colton had the BEST 6 year old birthday he could have asked for!

He wanted to have a dance party with his friends and that is what he got.  Katie even came into town for the weekend with Kay and Theo (which should be a whole other blog update...just say FUN).  We had a disco ball, all of the hip hop and today's hits you could think of and a raging dance floor.  I need to upload some videos but the pictures will do for now.  It was really so much fun watching the dynamics of all the kids and seeing how much fun they had together...picture a kids version of a lock n load (Clarkson reference).  Such great kids and friends!!!  Colton is one lucky kid. :)

Let's Go Red Sox...

Summer is officially here...Red Sox games complete with good friends, cold beers and wacky children!  We were lucky enough to join our buddies for perfect summer night game and as you can see from the pictures the kids had the best time!  I think the adults did too...my favorite thing about going to games with the Wells is when Chris stops and asks me and Donna what the score is to see if we are actually paying attention to the game or just ripping beers and talking...lol.  We are about 50/50 with the score updates. :)  Thanks guys for a great night!
