Colton had put visiting Legoland on his things to do list for 2012 so I told him if he did really well in school maybe we could try to make it happen. Since Legoland just opened up this past year in Orlando we decided to surprise the boys with an end of school year trip down there. Who really wants to go to Florida in June? Not me, but this wasn't my trip it was theirs. Heidi, Nick and I ventured down and we rented this enormous 5 bedroom house with all the amenities including our own pool and hot tub so the it was easy enough to stay at our house and cool off in the pool or ac to get a true lazy vacation feel when we needed it. We went to Legoland twice, one day we did nothing but rides and shows and the other day we hit their brandnew water park for half the day before topping off with our last rides. Colton is Lego obsessed so it was truly a 6 year old's dream come true. Legoland was filled with tons of adult themed rides that were scaled down for kids aged 5-12. Colton and Riley did everything and it was great to see how confident they felt going on the roller coasters all alone without an adult. The park was awesome to say the least and I would recommend it to anyone with younger children. No lines, healthy food options, lots of shade, great rides...the list goes on. In the end being in Florida during a heatwave was such a small detail if you could have seen the smiles on their faces. :)
Sorry - lots of pictures and this is just a few of the ones I took!
This picture is from a mastermind class that Nick took Colton and Riley too. They built a lego alligator that connected to the computer, then they programmed it to talk, move and eat a fish stick! So cool!!!
Colton even saved the day at the pirate water ski show!
