Haunted Ship

Last weekend when Julie was here visiting with her parents from PA we decided to do something fun one night. There is this haunted ship, USS Salem, over in the Quincy shipyard that does a haunted ship thing every year and I have always been curious but way to scared to ever actually do it. I thought Julie might be into it, being 19 and all, but she was scared too. So we talked Heidi and her sister in-law Siobhan to come with us. It was one of those things that none of us really wanted to go because we were scared but we also really wanted to see what it was like. It was scary enough being out of the house at night past 8PM without kids...so what the heck...we decided that we would put on our big girl pants and go for it! When we got there they also offered this late night paranormal ghost tour of the ship because it apparently really is haunted and was on Ghost Hunters (a tv show I am too afraid to watch) last week. Well I got talked into doing that as well...I am way too old for this stuff. Siobhan was nice enough to go first and then we formed our train (Heidi, me and then Jules in the back). The back is WAY worse because when you are walking through these things the monsters always linger in the back while you walk through. Julie was so far up my back though I am pretty sure she didn't see much! The scariest by far was the last room in the ship where this vampire/werewolf thing was on a table in front of the exit door and jumps at you like an animal and the door behind you locks...don't know how we got out! For the paranormal thing we used these little electromagnetic detectors (EMFs) in the dark and they pick up signals when ghost are present and there was some paranormal dude there that can see/hear them. It was a little freaky, definitely bizarre, but we seriously had a lot of fun and were out past midnight and actually liked it...yeah it must have been a full moon!

Just the girls...btw not by choice...not a single guy would come with us!

Julie before...

Julie after!

This is Julie with one of those EMFs...it was pitch black but we could use our cameras...sometimes you can get images on your camera if there is a ghost present...BOOOOO!!!
