The other day Nana was over for dinner and we had apple pie with ice cream and whip cream. Well things got ugly when Nana taught the boys how to eat whipped cream out of the can.

Nicoles Bachelorette Party
My cousin Nicole is getting married soon (actually this weekend) so a huge group of her friends and family planned a girls night out down at Foxwoods Casino. We went to the Scorpion Bar and even the old ladies (I am not referring to me here...my Nana, Aunt and Mom) went. It was a lot of fun and there were these go-go dancers that dance on the bar...wow am I fat. You couldn't help but stare at their moves and their bodies...just not fair that some people can move their asses like that. One real memorable story is that someone on our hotel floor called security on us. No not the whole party, just our room which was me, Heidi, my mom, Nana, Auntie Judy and my cousin Nicole. It was about 1AM and we got a knock at the door so Heidi answered it and they said they had some noise complaints...meanwhile we were all in bed as you can see from the picture. He said "if it isn't you it must be from the TV, can you turn it down" which btw was BLARING because they are all deaf . Heidi told the officer "I am here with my 85 year old Nana and she is deaf so she can't hear the TV, come on in if you don't believe me, but we will turn it down" Now Nana's wheelchair was in the door so he saw it and was clearly horrified and just apologized and left. I think it is hysterical that Nana was the naughtiest with her blaring TV. Anywhere here are some pictures from the night....lots of laughs and too many stories!!!

First Day
Yeah - he did the touchdown-butt dance in the parking lot as soon as he got out because he was so excited.
Finally here are the pictures from Colton's official first day of preschool. That morning mommy and daddy dropped him off and the Auntie Heidi picked him up. Of course there is always a story...so the next morning I am getting Colton dressed and I see he has a cute new blue LL Bean jacket that he had come home with from my sisters. It looked so cute on...so as we are driving over to Heidi's I ask Colton "Did Nana buy you a new coat?" he replies "No Mrs. Marino let me borrow it". Mrs. Marino is his teacher. Now I am trying to piece it all together. I am asking questions like "why did she let you borrow it" and he tells me "because I wuve it" and proceeds to tell me "the jacket is Andrews and he was crying because he wanted his coat but Mrs. Marino said it was my turn to borrow it". Umm yeah. So I wrote the teacher a note for Wednesday (mind you day two of preschool) and returned the coat. When my mom picked him up that afternoon I guess Mrs. Marino came out with the coat held it up to see if any of the parents knew who the coat belonged to because no kid had claimed it. Well finally one mom yells out "Oh yeah that's Jack's coat". Hmm...if I could be a fly on the wall in his class it sure would be entertainment. Oh and there isn't even an Andrew in his class. I wish I had taken a picture of him in the jacket now but I was so horrified at the time it slipped my mind.
On a second note, from the pictures you can tell Colton loves school was waving goodbye so hard and was so excited that he almost walked over a few kids and into a door on his way in...classic...he is so my son. :-)

Sam's football game
This weekend we went to Sammy's football game down in Plymouth. Can you believe Sam is old enough to play football?!?! Colton and Riley just thought this was the coolest thing ever and Sam let them try on his equipment after the game. For pop warner football it was a BIG to-do...cheerleaders, food stands...it was like being in high school! Mind you Sam is only in 6th grade...he too is growing up...I remember feeding him bottles...ugh another reminder of how old I am getting. Sam did awesome though and the boys are already asking when we will be going to see the Plymouth Vikings again. :-)
The Bad-news bears!
Can you tell they idolize Sam? Sometimes I tell them "Sam would do it" and just those words are enough to get them to do something they don't want to.

Hut Hut
I think Sam is teaching them to look tough!
Sam is a great pseudo big bro!

Salsa with the Blancos
I have been meaning to post this video for some time now. This is Colton doing the salsa while we were visiting the Blanco's this summer. Melissa had emailed this to me awhile back and I was just watching it with my cousin Nicole and we were laughing so hard she insisted I post it on the blog. If you know Melissa and Juan you would think that they taught him these moves...oh no...he had these all along and I think he even showed them a move or two! He does have sort of a tan year round, he could pass for latino...maybe him and Miss Vanessa are meant to be?!?! :-)

Preschool
I can't believe it...Colton is in preschool. Wednesday it was parent/child day so I went to school with him to meet the teacher and we had joint assignments...typical preschool stuff like find your locker, find this...color that...we both passed with flying colors. :-) His first official day will be this Wednesday after Labor Day. He will be going M-W-F for half days and he is very excited to start school but is sort of upset he doesn't get to eat lunch there (lol). Once I told him we still have to pack snacks he was really excited again and told me we will go snack shopping this weekend together (he has visions of fruit snacks I am sure). We went out for a special Mommy and Colton pre-preschool breakfast that morning and he was so cute and I really wish I could freeze time when you have those special moments. Thank goodness kindergarten is still 2 years away...I need to mentally prepare myself that my baby is growing up.
This one cracks me up because I asked him to give me the biggest "cheese" he could and not to tilt his head (which is his staple camera pose...he gets it from me...I mean you gotta do what you can to hide those double chins)!

Marshfield Fair
Last Thursday we took the kids to the Marshfield Fair after work. Heidi was working so it was me, Corey and my mom and Heidi's boys. Colton, being a typical 3 year old, wanted to stay home with Nick for some odd reason (when do you have to try a bribe a kid to go to a fair where we will go on rides, eat crap and win prizes...don't get it?!?! His loss.). We started the night with the demolition derby...cars crashing into each other is always good entertainment. We ate carnie food...pet the animals, played games (see Grinch below) and went on rides. I went on the Dizzy Dinos with Riley and I swear I was so dizzy I wanted to vomit...God I am old. It was a really fun and silly night and here are some highlights...
Corey won some break the beer bottle game and Riley got to pick any stuffed animal...the Grinch???....I really wanted the Halloween Kermit but I am over it now. The Grinch went everywhere with us...he even hung out my sunroof on the drive home (I told you we were silly).
Clearly Brayden's favorite part of the night...the train exhibit. This is also where we lost Brayden's shoe and found it about a half hour later (why does one kid always lose a shoe?).
Corey and Riley rev the engines...bumper cars. Watch the video below to see how well they did...I should have raced them....maybe next year. :)

Elementary School Friends - Mine...not Coltons!
Twenty eight years ago we met at Manomet Elementary School. Here we are today...believe it or not we reunited before Facebook! This is Jen (Power), Rita (Ritval) and Amanda (Randall). I don't think we have actually changed that much at all...I wish I could have dug out some old pictures, maybe for the next reunion which will be soon since Amanda is due with her first little one (a boy!) the end of October. Rita brought her 3 year old daughter Olivia, perfect little playmate for Colton as you can see from the pictures. It was so nice catching up with these girls and reminiscing about the "good old days"! :-)
