Monkey Trunks...

I have been promising Colton since his birthday that we would take a trip to to Monkey Trunks up in NH.  With summer almost over and a hurricane less than 24 hours away, we decided to take the "jump" this Saturday and head up there.  I was glad we did because it was beautiful and sunny up in Chocorua and nothing but rainy and wet in Boston.  My friend Jen and her two kids, Sam (also 5 years old like Colton) and Ainsley (7 years old just like Riley) joined Heidi, Riley, Colton and I on our adventure.  In case you are wondering what Monkey Trunks is (www.monkeytrunks), it is this highrope, zipline adventure park for kids and adults.  The location we went to even has a mini-monkey course for kids under 48" so Colton and Sam were able to have their own little course that wasn't quite as large (aka scary) as the other courses.  Jen and I took the little guys on the mini one and Heidi took the big kids on the discovery course where they were super high up and at the end took a long zipline down.  Here are some pictures and videos from our day.  We had such a great time and before we left we were already talking about when we come back next year.  I am kinda hoping I get at least two years before Colton hits that 48" mark because the mini-monkey course is more than adventurous enough for me!  We ended the day getting ice cream at this local place right on a dam (I think the place was called Dam Ice Cream actually).  It was a cute little pit stop and Ainsley summed it up when she said "this would be a perfect spot for two people to meet and fall in love, wouldn't it".  Hysterical.  I think Riley was sort of hoping the love story could be him and her...haha.  Ainsley is a true little tom-boy, she climbed and zipped like a true chimp...she definitely made Riley think twice about what the typical girl actually is.  ;)

 Getting psyched up!

 Heidi and Riley

 Team Chittick

Notice Ainsley cool as a clam and this is right before Riley gets nervous, tries to get down and go pee and thinks he is on a zipline but really isn't and slams into a pole and gets hurt.  A little blood and bruising but he was fine and got back up there once he saw Ainsley and Heidi could do it.

Easing their way into the mini-monkey course.

So Colton informed me right after this...
"mom, I may have peed my pants, just a little, when I jumped"

Colton finally decided to do the swing jump instead of the zipline down.
He informed me after this one too that he may have peed his pants "just a little".
P.S. you can hear him giggling the whole time...this is how he skates on the ice too. So funny.

Sam goes for the zip.

Riley doing a big old zipline.
