Super Hero & Pirate Party

Here is a look at the boys all done up for the Superhero/Pirates party at Colton's school. Riley wanted to be Jack Sparrow so he could wear a mustache. Brayden was batman but the costume didn't last long...I guess he opted to be Bruce Wayne instead. C-man was Superman. They had a lot of fun doing the treasure hunt, there was a dj, all sorts of stuff going on for the kids and Jack Sparrow, Spiderman and Batman kept the kids busy for the entire 2 hours...wow! Nick and I had a really nice afternoon with our little superheros. :)

Strolling along...

Spring is sort of in the air here in Boston. This past weekend was just beautiful, warm weather, snow is melted, the sun was out and drawing you to the outdoors. On Saturday, Alicia and I took Colton, Leighton and Buddy for a walk at the dog park. We walked slow and enjoyed the fresh air...wonderfully therapeutic! That night we went to Cape Cod Pizza with the entire family (I swear I only travel with an entourage) to celebrate Wally's birthday. Sunday I went hiking with my friend Christine at Wompatuck and now all I want is for Spring to be here and time to spend outdoors doing all the things we love. :-)

Riley's first tooth

Riley lost his first tooth last night. It was wiggly for at least a month before it finally came out...it was quite the waiting game. The tooth fairy left him $5 and apparently that is the going rate right now...lucky kid.

Train Rides

Saturday Colton and I went into the North End to play with Angela and Rich. We also got to see our little friend Lucie and even have a nice lunch date my friends Donna, Sona and Lisa. Colton has been asking to take "Daddy's train", aka the commuter rail, so we took the T and the commuter rail home. He was in heaven. We even sat at one of the seats with the tables and shared a snack that we picked out at South Station. Dad and Buddy met us at the train station that is literally across the street from our road and we walked home together. That night we got a nice surprise when Wally, Alicia and Leighton came up to have dinner with us. Sunday Heidi and my friend Lisa and I went cross country skiing. Unfortunately for us there is a lack of snow in Mass so the trails weren't really open and it was wet...we had fun none the less though. Great weekend!

Dinsey on Ice again...

Another great outing to see Disney on Ice. We had a nice Friday night out with the Posts and the Whitings. Here are the kids enjoying the show.

Heidi's birthday

Heidi turned 32 this year. We went to Maggianos for a nice family style dinner that no one had to cook. It was sinful.

Dog parks

I really love nothing more than hitting all the great dog parks near our house and beyond. Lately I have been getting out with just Buddy and leaving Colton behind because he gets cold or tired too quickly. Our favorite place to go is Bare Cove though and it is great because they have paved and unpaved paths. When Colton comes we hit the pavement with his scooter or bike. When it is just Buddy and I we tend to off road it and hopefully grab a few geocaches along our travels. I wish Buddy had cooperated for this picture but here is Corey and Colton enjoying a nice stroll through Bare Cove...right before Buddy decided to jump into the marsh and get covered in muck...awesome.

Cannon Aerial Tram

We took a trip to the top of Cannon Mountain in Franconia Notch State Park. From the top you can see the mountains of New Hampshire, Maine, Vermont, New York and Canada! This was Leighton, Brayden and my mom's first trip on a "ski lift"...pretty cool. At the top we had hot chocolates and cookies. Leighton has now been to four states and she is only 3 months old...quite the traveler!

Hitting the slopes

Heidi and I took the boys up to the bunny slope over at Loon. Riley has skied before so she was pretty confident that he would be able to go solo this year without the harness and she could give Colton a few lessons instead. Riley had a few falls starting out but before we knew it he was a master of the bunny slope and flying down the mountains (he beat me down the mountain a few times!). Heidi took Colton down with the harness a couple thousand times and before we knew it they were hitting the real chair lift. He did not want the day to end, I know he loved it because his tolerance for the cold was at an all time high. No ski outing is complete without hot chocolate in the lodge...it was so warm we even sat on the bench while it snowed, drinking our hot chocolate and watching the skiers. Colton wanted to go back the next day and the next...it was just way too cold though the rest of the weekend though to get him back up there...maybe we can squeeze a short ski trip in before Winter is over so he can get his fix. :)

Time on the Mountain

Our family went up to Lincoln, NH last week/weekend and had such a nice time...it is tough leaving when you just want to stay! Alicia's parents have this great condo up at Loon that they let us crash at every year so Heidi and I went up early in the week with the boys and then Alicia, Wally, Leighton, Corey, Kerry, my mom and Phil came up as well. Heidi. Riley, Colton and I went skiing on Thursday and it was just perfect ski weather, warm and snowed the entire time, 7". We did lots of fun things to highlight a few: skiing, the Cannon Aerial Tram, drives through the White Mountains, swimming in the pool, relaxing in the hot tubs, ice skating, geocaching (didn't find anything because we nearly froze to death), ping pong tournaments, lots of snuggling, games, relaxing and eating. Since I have so many pictures to share I am going to split up these blog entries. These pictures are of us just lounging around.

This one needs a lot of explaining. My mom dressed them up as star wars dudes then they got the hang of it and went back into the bedroom and transformed into a rock band. Notice the deodorant harmonica and my mom's Uggs. See little video clip below for more. :)

Me and my best buddy in the entire world...I am the LUCKIEST mom ever. Oh and for those that don't have iphones...get one...he was entertained all through dinner. We went to the Common Man and had quite a feast...mmm.
