Hiltons in July
The Hiltons flew in for their annual US visit a little earlier this year and Colton and I were happy to have them stay with us for a very brief visit. We packed our time with endless stories, laughs, beers, food and then they moved on in their journey. Although we don't see them as much as we would like when we are together it is as if they lived next door and not across the pond. Miss them already!

Norfolk Sheriff's Youth Leadership Academy
Colton spent the week with Riley and Brayden at the Norfolk Sheriff Youth Leadership Academy. They spent days working in teams, problem solving, completing challenges and endless team building activities. The boys LOVE this camp. They last day of camp the families are invited to watch them complete various activities they did throughout the week (ziplines etc.).

Summer fun
Baseball all week for this kid. He is in his glory playing with his buddy Ben who he has known since preschool. I am certain that we are foreshadowing trouble with these two in the years to come!

Where have we been...it's now 2018????
I came across my blog today when randomly googling mine and Colton's names. It seriously brought back so many good feelings that I thought...it's not too late to try to get back on the bandwagon. So where have we been the last 6 years? EVERYWHERE. Time really flew and I am sort of sad that I didn't capture all the important and not so important moments here on the blog. So it is time to recommit. Colton has told me that he sometimes comes back to this blog and reads stories of things he no longer remembers so the least I can do is try to check in with updates every now and again so making the trip down memory lane isn't so hard someday!
Our time has been spent living in the moments with our families and friends. Traveling, sports, new friends, old friends, home improvements...the list goes on. We have both grown figuratively and literally and Colton is now 12 and almost as tall as I am. He is man-size and his looks are changing daily but he is still a gentle giant with the heart of a sweet little boy. I have more grays and am not as young or thin or energetic...but life is seriously amazing. I am not going to back track and fill you in on everything but I can start from today and show you where we are going forward.
